Aircraft Structural Assembler B

Location: North Charleston, SC
Schedule: Must be available to work all shifts based on business needs
Training: 8–10 weeks (successful completion is a contingency of assignment – includes OJT and/or formal classroom training)

Position Overview:

PDS Defense is seeking an Aircraft Structural Assembler B to perform routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems using manual operations. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and flexibility to work variable shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use structural assembly tools such as high-speed and low-speed drills, pneumatic and electric drills, nut runners, and Quackenbush tools
• Set up and validate jigs and other tooling setups
• Perform close-tolerance drilling and installations in critical aircraft structural areas
• Use calibrated precision measuring tools
• Install and remove various fasteners using proper techniques
• Work with CFRP, aluminum, and titanium for structural drilling, sanding, trimming, and shimming

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6 months to 5 years of experience using software applications (internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite, or specialized applications)
• 6 months to 5 years of experience following detailed work instructions and reading/interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications in English
• 6 months to 5 years of experience in advanced manufacturing, technical, or mechanical fields using hand, power, and pneumatic tools
• 6 months to 5 years of experience with structural parts fabrication, assembly processes, and procedures

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to meet physical demands such as bending, kneeling, climbing, crawling, crouching, reaching overhead, and standing for extended periods
• Carry/lift up to 35 lbs
• Ability to work with high hazard chemicals
