JOB TITLE: SMT Rework Technician

Summary:
Use a microscope to verify part placement, manually align parts before soldering, and perform post re-flow inspection and touch-up.
Identify and touch up poor solder joints, solder voids, insufficient solder, solder shorts/bridges, misaligned parts, tombstoned components, and other solder defects.
Utilize Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to identify solder defects and differentiate false calls from real issues.
Read instructions and identify standard SMT components.
Work in a fast-paced environment, with potential overtime.
Sit for long periods, focusing on detailed and repetitive tasks.
Operate rework equipment such as hot air pencils, hot plates, and BGA removal tools.
Inspect boards using X-ray to identify solder defects on bottom-terminated components.
Experience with soldering and tacking jumper wires on re-design boards is a plus.
Hold IPC-610 and IPC J-STD-001 certifications (active or expired).
Requirements:
6+ years of experience in SMT soldering and rework.
IPC-610 and IPC J-STD-001 certifications (active or expired).
